Kerry Horner

At 56 years old, Kerry received the call she had been waiting 2 years to get – a kidney match was found! For the past 6 years Kerry has been bravely fighting her failing kidneys, finally succumbing to dialysis last December. Kerry has always been a fighter – she had a stroke in 2015 and aside from some permanent neuropathy in her left side, she beat the odds then and is fighting to beat the odds now! She is an avid gardener, church leader, loving mom, grandma, sister and daughter. When you get that amazing phone call life stands still – and so do your incoming funds. Kerry works as a teacher’s assistant (paraprofessional) and for the next year will not be able to work. Family and friends of Kerry are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund Kerry’s uninsured medical expenses associated with her transplant. We have chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses so you know her funds are secure. Help Hope Live is a non-profit that holds her donations so they don’t count as assets against her Social Security Disability which won’t kick in until March 2027.
