Dakota Harmon

This is a post we never imagined having to write, but we are reaching out for support during an incredibly difficult time.

Dakota Harmon is currently in the Critical Care Unit at Carle Hospital in Champaign, Illinois, following a severe leg injury that occurred during baseball practice in Kansas, where he supports the team while pursuing his dream of becoming head coach of the Tri-County Titans.

Dakota suffered a compound fracture in his lower right leg, which initially restricted blood flow to his foot. Doctors successfully repositioned the bones, restoring circulation, and he was awake and doing well following treatment.

Sadly, his condition took an unexpected turn overnight. After becoming ill, Dakota developed serious breathing complications and fluid in and around his lungs. His medical team intubated him to support his breathing and is working to stabilize his condition. His recovery remains uncertain, and his leg surgery must wait until he is medically stable.

Dakota has a long road ahead, and we do not yet know how long his recovery will take. As he faces ongoing medical care, rehabilitation, and time away from work, the financial strain of medical bills and everyday living expenses will continue to grow. Although he has some paid time off and medical leave benefits, those resources will eventually run out.

We are asking for your help to ease this financial burden and allow Dakota to focus on healing. Any donation, no matter the amount, will make a difference and is deeply appreciated.

Dakota has always been someone who shows up for others with a generous heart and a willingness to help whenever needed. Now, we have an opportunity to show up for him and his family during a time when they need it most.
