Help David Build a Safe, Accessible Future After a Catastrophic TBI

On June 16th 2021, David Kearney’s life completely changed when he survived a catastrophic traumatic brain injury (TBI). While surviving was a miracle, the road ahead requires completely transforming his living environment to support a lifetime of safety, healing, and independence.

To live safely and manage the long-term impacts of his injury, David requires a specially adapted home. This transition involves vital structural modifications, including wheelchair-accessible entryways, widened hallways with handrailings, a specialized safety bathroom, and smart-home integrated therapy technologies.

Beyond these physical changes, David faces a lifetime of ongoing neuro-rehabilitation and critical healthcare necessities. These essential demands—ranging from daily medications to vital medical supplies, some which fall outside of standard insurance coverage.

We are launching this campaign with a goal of $500,000 to directly fund:

Accessible Home Modifications: Building & adapting a permanent, safe space to prevent further injuries and maximize daily independence.

Lifetime Neuro-Rehab & Medical Equipment: Ensuring uninterrupted access to physical therapies, standing frames, and specialized mobility tools.

Uninsured Health & Safety Products: Covering specialized everyday items essential to a TBI survivor’s long-term wellbeing.

We have chosen to partner with the national nonprofit Help Hope Live to manage David’s campaign. Because Help Hope Live is a certified 501(c)(3) organization, all donations are strictly tax-deductible. Crucially, the foundation manages all assets directly to ensure funds are exclusively paid toward verified medical, adaptive, and housing expenses—protecting David’s critical state benefits and giving donors absolute financial peace of mind.
