Donald Dotson

“Double D, Mr. Dotson, Coach D, Dad, Tio Donald”, just some of the names Donald goes by.

Donald has been battling Chronic Kidney Disease for years, and in early 2022 his kidney function took a decline. It was decided, on January of 2023 Donald would visit Las Palmas Medical Center Transplant Clinic to begin the process of a kidney transplant.
In late December, Donald shared the news with his daughter Alexis. If you know the Dotson family, you know how close the father and daughter are. Alexis right away went into action mode, and volunteered to be her father’s living kidney donor. From January to end of April both Donald and Alexis went through some extensive testing. On May 5th, 2023 both Donald and Alexis got the call that they were both approved for surgery and even better, Alexis was a direct match for her father.
On July 5th – both Alexis and Donald underwent surgery to complete the transplant. As of now the transplant has been successful and both Donald and Alexis are recovering well. Thank you so much for all of the prayers, love, and support that has been sent their way!
