Dustin Needs a Liver Transplant to Save His Life

Dustin is a 30-year-old resident of Punta Gorda, Florida, who urgently needs a liver transplant. Before he can be placed on the transplant list, he must demonstrate that he has raised at least $6,000 to help cover transplant-related expenses.

Meet Dustin

Dustin is a born-and-raised Floridian who works full-time as a cook at a local restaurant. In his free time, he enjoys watching sports, especially college football. He is a proud Oregon Ducks fan and loves collecting sports cards and playing online video games with friends.

Dustin’s Medical Journey

In December 2023, Dustin was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and end-stage liver disease. Less than a year later, in August 2024, a liver specialist informed him that he would need a liver transplant.

Then, in September 2025, Dustin received another devastating diagnosis: liver cancer.

Since January 2026, he has undergone numerous tests, procedures, and evaluations. Thankfully, his liver cancer is currently in remission. Through determination and perseverance, Dustin has completed all the medical requirements needed to be placed on the liver transplant waiting list.

As of August 2026, he has met every requirement except one: the financial requirement of raising $6,000. Once these funds are secured, he can be officially listed for a life-saving liver transplant.

The Road Ahead

The financial challenges do not end once Dustin is listed.

Following his transplant, he is expected to remain in the hospital for approximately 7 to 10 days, provided there are no complications. During that time, his mother plans to stay near the transplant center in Tampa, Florida, to support him throughout his recovery.

After discharge, Dustin will need frequent follow-up appointments, sometimes several times each week. Because he lives about two hours from the hospital, he and his mother will likely need temporary lodging near the transplant center, creating additional expenses during a critical period of recovery.

A Fighter Who Never Gives Up

Over the past several years, Dustin has faced chronic fatigue, muscle pain, and poor sleep due to his liver disease. Despite these challenges, he has continued to work full-time and stay positive through every obstacle.

A liver transplant would provide Dustin with the chance to regain his health and spend many more years making memories with the family and friends who love him.
