Dylan Andrew Stoskopf

<update, 09/12/2026>

A few days into my conditioning chemo, transplant day is the 16th of September. I’m tolerating the treatment well, with the symptoms being headache, drowsiness, and nausea.

Nice thing is I have a nice view of Union Bay and Husky Stadium. </update>

Family and friends of Dylan Stoskopf are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a bone marrow transplant. Dylan has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.

Dylan 45 and is a congenital heart failure survivor (August 2023), has a heart transplant (November 2023), has a history of melanoma that was surgically removed (December 2024), has undergone treatment for acute myeloid leukemia (August 2025) which is now in relapse and needing a bone marrow transplant to treat.

Dylan has exhausted all of his financial savings going through these treatments, as well as, leaned on family to the point that they have exhausted their ability to provide financial and long-term care. Unfortunately, Dylan is unable to receive this transplant without a plan for 24/7 caregiving for the post transplant period, which is an very expensive undertaking. He is determined to live through whatever comes his way, no matter the hardship, no matter the cost. He will survive!

Dylan’s history beyond the medical scope is a bit on the “boo-hoo, life is hard,” side and is traumatizing just to read second-hand, so he will spare the audience from being exposed to that darkness. Despite his past he has thrived, surviving trauma, breaking chains, building a legacy, and constantly looking to better himself and his community around him.

Dylan has a passion for mentoring, and prior to his working in the architecture and construction design field, worked eight years as a college tutor at his alma mater, Lake Washington Institute of Technology. There he had helped numerous first generation, disability, and low income students through the TRiO program, as well as, having a private pay tutoring option where any student could utilize his services at a client chosen rate range that anyone could afford. Over his tenure as a tutor, Dylan helped hundreds of students, in hundreds of subjects, jokingly being called a walking college by his colleagues and the teaching staff. In the end, he helped over 100 students succeed in obtaining their associates degree with his students having a 98% pass rate and a 30% matriculation rate.

In his current position as a physical security designer, he has also built a legacy, working for an engineering firm since 2018. Dylan has developed multiple tools and workflows that heavily influence the security specialty within the company. He has also mentored numerous designers that were new to security design and the tools needed in their careers.

Dylan’s mindset is that he received help achieving success in life, so he is determined to help as many people find their success. As a mentor, the success of other’s is his measure of success, with the ultimate goal being that those he mentors become mentors themselves.
