Ella Whitman

Ella is a sweet, determined little girl who has already faced more challenges than most children her age.

Ella was diagnosed with Chromosome 8p Inverted Duplication Deletion Syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects her development in many ways. She has low muscle tone, developmental delays, and communication challenges. While Ella may not always be able to tell us what she wants, needs, feels, or thinks with spoken words, she has so much to say.

That is where an AAC device can make a life-changing difference.

AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication. With a specialized tablet and communication program, Ella can learn to use pictures, symbols, and words to express herself. It can give her a way to tell us when she is hungry, uncomfortable, excited, scared, happy, or simply wants to share something with the people she loves.

Ella is already working hard in therapy and learning new skills at her own pace. She continues to amaze us with her determination and personality. We want to give her every opportunity possible to become more independent and to communicate with the world around her.

This is where we could use your help.

We are raising money to purchase Ella’s own AAC tablet, communication program, protective equipment, and other items needed to help her use it successfully. Having her own device means she can practice consistently at home, during therapy, in the community, and wherever life takes her.

Our goal is not simply to buy Ella a tablet.

Our goal is to give Ella a voice.
