Gregory Stouffer

My name is Greg and I’m 64 years old and work and attend church every Sunday. I have worked most of my life and spend as much time as I can with my family and friends. Things changed after I received the Diagnosis of Stage four COPD.

I manage my health with the help of my Doctors, my family but most of all God. I take my medications daily and am on oxygen twenty-fours a day. This makes it harder for me to spend time with my family and friends. It is hard for me to go out and enjoy the simple things in life because I run out of breath quite easily. I do work part time I do however have to depend on my inhaler quite often. I do have trouble sleeping because of constant worry or because the tubing gets to be intrusive. My hope is that the Lung Transplant will give me a fuller life so that I can spend time with my great niece and nephews. Hopefully to teach them how to fish.

My transplant requires me to temporarily relocate to be closer to the hospital. Although this would be a temporary move I’ll have to pay for the apartment there and my apartment as well along with food, gas, medications and other expenses with having to have a second person with me at all times.
