Help Gunther Keep Moving Forward 💚

Our 10-year-old son Gunther has Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, and we are asking for help with something no family should have to face alone: getting him an accessible vehicle.

Duchenne is changing Gunther’s world much faster than we ever wanted it to. He is now in the transition from walking to using a power wheelchair. The wheelchair will give him safety, mobility, and independence—but it also means our current vehicle can no longer meet his needs.

We need an accessible van that can safely transport Gunther and his power wheelchair.

This isn’t about having a nicer vehicle. It’s about being able to get our son to his medical appointments, school, therapies, and everything else that makes him feel like a kid. It’s about being able to take family trips, go places together, and make memories without wondering how we’re going to get his wheelchair there.

As his muscles become weaker, lifting and transferring him and his wheelchair will become increasingly difficult and unsafe. An accessible van would allow us to transport him safely while protecting the independence and dignity he deserves.
