Adam Zakrzewski

Dear Family and Friends,

We are writing to ask you to unite with us to help raise money for Adam Zakrzewski’s spinal cord injury expenses.

On February 16, 2013, Adam’s snowmobiling weekend with his friends in New Hampshire turned into something unimaginable. Due to a snowmobile malfunction, he was thrown off the machine and suffered a life-changing spinal cord injury. The extent of his trauma is still being evaluated.

Adam is currently in the Critical Care Unit at a hospital in Lebanon, NH, where he has been surrounded by family and friends. The outpouring of support, prayers, and healing energy from everyone has been overwhelming.

Adam will soon need to be moved to a facility in New Jersey to receive intensive rehabilitation. His amazing wife, Magda, will be there with him every step of the way. Even before the accident, Adam and Magda’s story has always been one of unconditional love, trust, and support. We believe very deeply in Adam’s determined spirit and Magda’s unwavering strength. We know that they will both continue to amaze us during the long recovery and adjustment period.

The costs associated with a spinal cord injury are staggering. Adam and Magda are facing home modifications, expensive in-patient and then out-patient therapy, home health care and more. Much of this won’t be covered by insurance.

To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Adam’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. In 2000, they expanded their mission to include those who have sustained a catastrophic injury. All contributions are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Northeast Spinal Cord Injury Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for injury-related expenses only.
