Hi, my name is Alex. I am launching a fundraiser to acquire a service dog trained for both mobility and psychiatric support. I live with several challenging conditions that affect my physical and mental health:

Physical Needs: I have hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, fibromyalgia, and am partially paralyzed. Because of this, I use a wheelchair for mobility. A service dog would assist me by opening doors, retrieving items, and providing stability when transferring, which will reduce the frequency of joint dislocations and significantly alleviate my daily pain, as well as reduce my risk of falling.

Psychological Needs: Due to years of institutional abuse, I suffer from anxiety, depression, and PTSD, which manifest as panic attacks and nightmares. A service dog would alert me as my anxiety increases and provide pressure therapy to manage and interrupt panic attacks.

A service dog would transform my daily life, enhancing my independence and overall quality of life. I have been accepted to a program that will train my service dog, but I need your support to reach my fundraising goal and participate in this life-changing opportunity. It will end up costing $20-35,000 to receive a fully trained dog.
