Alexander Martinez needs your help

Alex is a 16 year old teenager. On June 30, 2022 he sustained a C4-5 spinal cord injury while competing in a wrestling match. Alex is dedicated to his therapy and while making great gains he continues to require maximal care due to his injury. He is unable to write, feed himself, get in/out of bed, balance himself, and he is not able to walk and requires assistance for his daily living activities.

Alex used to play guitar, he used to help everybody in our neighborhood, and he loved to help his younger brothers to assist his parents who were working to provide for the family. Alex enjoyed exercising, cooking, he used to be a very good student, math is his favorite class.

Alex and his family are working really hard to get him as functional and independent as possible. For this, Alex really needs help with reliable transportation that not only gets him to his therapy and medical appointments, but also to allow the family to go together to any activity that every family does normally. Alex also requires an updated wheelchair and some equipment to provide him more support for his spine, a better wheelchair cushion to avoid pressure areas and devices that allow him more mobility with his legs even to stand up. Additionally, He needs more therapy treatments to maximize his functional potential and independence. With all of these, he can grow up being as close to any other teenager in his physical, emotional, social, family and community development.
