Allen Hudson

Dear Friends, Family and Community,

My husband, Allen Hudson was diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease in 2008. Within the last two years, Allen’s health has declined rapidly, he is on dialysis every night and his doctors have told us that his only option is a life-saving kidney transplant.

Allen is a loving husband, wonderful father to Mary-Beth and Victoria and good friend to so many. He is always there to help others whether it is in his life of service as a member of North Charleston Baptist Church; or as a friend to so many in times of need. He has served overseas in the US Army and was a member of the National Guard. Unfortunately, due to his poor health, Allen is no longer able to work or do many things he has always enjoyed.

After many years of being a blessing to others, it is our chance to be a blessing to Allen. A transplant is life-saving and also very expensive. Even with insurance, there are many expenses that must be covered out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, and travel to and from the transplant center and relocation expenses at the time of transplant. In addition, Allen will be on a life-time of anti-rejection medications.

To help with the financial burden of Allen’s uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted non- profit organization providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Mid-Atlantic Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses. Allen’s greatest joy is to glorify God with the life he has been given. Allen knows that this is but a part of the journey that the Lord has laid out for him and is excited for what the future holds.
