Allison is 19 years old, and over the past several years, her life has changed in ways none of us could have imagined.

What started with what seemed like a relatively small problem has developed into a complex, progressive neurological condition affecting nearly every part of her life. Her legs and arms have become increasingly weak and spastic, she has developed painful contractures, and has lost her ability to walk, and stand. But the challenges don’t stop with movement.

Allison is also dealing with severe autonomic dysfunction, significant intestinal dysmotility, and respiratory disease. She now requires extensive medical support, including a g tube, port, tracheostomy, and ventilatory support. She has been through more than 17 surgeries to help her body.

Despite all of this, Allison keeps fighting.

She continues to see specialists, undergo testing, do multiple types of therapy, and search for answers. Her medical team is still trying to understand the underlying cause of this complicated condition. Our goal isn’t simply to get Allison through the next appointment.

Our goal is to give Allison the best possible chance at maintaining her independence, comfort, and quality of life while her doctors continue searching for answers.
