Help Us Secure a Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle for Andre

There are moments in life that divide everything into “before” and “after.”

For our family, that moment came when my husband Andre became paralyzed and was diagnosed as a C4 quadriplegic.

Since then, every part of life requires planning — especially transportation.

Andre depends on a wheelchair-accessible vehicle to attend physical therapy, medical appointments, and his upcoming clinical trial visits out of state. Recently, we were informed that transportation to his physical therapy is no longer covered, which means getting him to care now fully depends on us.

We initially planned to rent a wheelchair-accessible van for his clinical trial trips. The cost for just 10 days was nearly $1,800 — and multiple trips are required. Repeated rentals would quickly exceed the cost of ownership.

A reliable used wheelchair-accessible van costs between $25,000–$35,000, plus tax, registration, and necessary ramp servicing.

Our goal is $30,000 to secure safe, long-term transportation for Andre.

This vehicle is not a luxury. It is medically necessary.

It will allow:

• Safe transport to physical therapy

• Access to medical appointments

• Travel for clinical trial participation

• Protection from unsafe and exhausting transfers

• Independence and dignity

I work full-time at a clinic while also caring for Andre and raising our son. We budget carefully and do everything we can to provide for our family. But adaptive vehicles are a cost we cannot meet alone.
