Andy Crowson

Dear Family and Friends,

I am writing this letter to ask you for your prayers and support for my husband, Andy Crowson. Last summer, Andy was experiencing chest pains and shortness of breath and was taken to High Point Regional Hospital. After several tests were performed, he was later transferred to Duke University Hospital where he was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. The doctors implanted him with an LVAD (left ventricle assist device) to stabilize him. Andy’s doctors have told us that his only chance for survival is a heart transplant.

Andy is an avid hunter, fisherman, woodworker, and loves spending time with our two sons, Christian (18) and Chris (13). Unfortunately, due to his health he can no longer enjoy these activities. Both Andy and I have had to stop working, as his health is so fragile and he must be monitored around the clock. We are now up against a challenge that we can not meet alone and desperately need your help.

Even with insurance, the cost of transplant surgery is overwhelming. There are many expenses that must be paid for out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles, doctor visits, and the costly anti-rejection medications that Andy will have to take for the rest of his life.

To offset some of these expenses, a fundraising campaign has been established in Andy’s honor with HelpHOPELive. HelpHOPELive is a non-profit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for more than 28 years.
