Angela Marie Lovett

Angela has been living with decompensated liver cirrhosis. People with decompensated liver cirrhosis have scarring and major complications. Without a liver transplant this disease is terminal. Average survival time is approximately 2 to 3 years without receiving a liver transplant. A liver transplant is necessary to replace the damaged liver, as the scarring is often irreversible at this stage. 

Angela has been told by the Mayo Clinic Transplant Committee that her case has been deferred for 3 months while she gets needed dentalwork (to prevent infection since after the transplant she will be immunocompromised) and the Committee is also requiring she have at least $7000 available for aftercare treatment and accomodations near the hospital, in Florida. After the 3 months, if she is successful in meeting her goal, she will be added to the transplant list and recieve a life saving transplant.

Angela is a daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, cousin and friend. She has adult children, her son, James (and his wife, Christian) and her daughter, Brittany. She is a grandmother of 4: Kingston (13), Kaylee (11), Jaxson (9) and Theodore (7). Angela helps to take care of her grandchildren, as much as she can. Watching her children succeed as adults and parents and watching her grandchildren grow-up are the greatest joys, in her life. She goes to all their school functions, even when not feeling well, as she doesn’t want to miss any part of their lives. Angela also takes care of her father (82) who has Parkinson’s disease. Unfortunately, this is becoming more and more difficult for her as she deals with her own illness.

Family and friends of Angela Lovett are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Angela has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses. Donations will help Angela to get the transplant she desperately needs. It will give her a chance to live a long life surrounded by family and friends while watching her grandchildren grow-up.
