Angie Workman

Angela Workman is a 41-year-old woman who has been living with diabetes since the age of nine. Recently, she has become immune to all insulin- human and synthetic. Her only option for survival now is a pancreas transplant. As a nurse Angie has dedicated her life to the health and wellness of others. Now she needs our help as the cost of a transplant can be overwhelming.

Angie grew up in Hartford City, Indiana and graduated from Blackford High School. After marrying her husband Greg and being a stay-at-home mom she continued her education to be a nurse. After many fulfilling years of working as a nurse Angie has moved into administration at an assisted living facility. Angie eagerly looks forward to continuing to care for her residents once her transplant is complete. Together Angie and her family are committed to seeing her through this transplant.

Transplants are life-saving but financially draining. Even with insurance, Angie is facing very high expenses including temporary relocation to Indianapolis to be close to IU Medical Center, post-transplant immunosuppressant medications of up to $3,000 per month, co-pays, lab fees, and so much more.

To help with the financial burden of Angie’s uninsured expenses, a fund raising campaign in her honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible are held by HelpHOPELive in the Great Lakes Pancreas Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant related expenses only.
