Dear Friends, Family and Community,

Our daughter Angelise is in desperate need of a life-saving heart transplant and she needs your help in order to make it happen.

Angelise is the light of our lives. She is a sweet and loving nine year old who holds the key to the heart of so many people. At birth, Angelise was diagnosed with Hypolplastic Left Heart Syndrome, a severe congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is underdeveloped. She has been through four open heart surgeries since birth and the most recent was in 2013. In 2014, Angelise was diagnosed with Plastic Bronchitis, a debilitating disease that can be life-threatening. She has been hospitalized several times since she was diagnosed. Her last visit to the hospital was very scary because we almost lost her, when her airway was blocked from the plastic bronchitis.

We don’t know if we have days, weeks, or months of waiting for the call that will change Angelise’s life, the call that will give her a new heart. What we do know if that even with insurance a heart transplant is very expensive and there are many expenses that must be paid out of pocket. Some of these are co-pays, deductibles and travel to and from Shands Hospital at the University of Florida. We will need to relocate at the time of Angelise’s transplant for at least a few months and Angelise will be on a life-time of costly anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is so greatly needed.

To help with the financial burden of Angelise uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax deductible to the full extent allowed by law, are held by Help Hope Live in the Southeast Heart Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
