Please Help Ann Live Independently

Hi, I’m 50 years old and was born with Spina Bifida. This is a condition where the spine and spinal cord don’t form correctly. However, I worked hard to learn to be independent, especially after I lost my parents at 39. I consider my independence to be a great strength.

In my youth I worked as a cashier. However, in 2005, my mental and physical health deteriorated to the point that I could no longer manage that job. I use a manual wheelchair at this point, which I transport in my pick-up truck. However, this is not easy, as it requires that I lift the chair into the bed of the truck, and I am losing my ability to do so safely.

At this point, I am hoping to purchase a wheelchair accessible vehicle. This will allow me to safely and easily attend medical appointments, as well as keep in touch with family and friends. My independence is the most important and sacred aspect of my life. Please donate and share to help me maintain it.
