Annamarie Ausnes is fundraising to pay for her uninsured medical expenses associated with her kidney transplant, and for her wonderful living donor– Sandie Andersen and her related expenses as well. Annamarie and Sandie live in Tacoma, WA, and were treated at Virginia Mason Medical Center. On March 11, 2008 Annamarie received her Gift-of-Life, a new kidney, from Sandie.

In honor of Sandra’s gift to Annamarie, Annamarie nominated Sandie for a CNN Hero award. CNN featured Sandie and Annamarie on a segment called CNN Heroes ~ the piece focused on Sandie’s act of heroism. The segment ran on all the major networks, including the Today Show, which featured a live interview of both Sandie and Annamarie.

Annamarie has chosen to fundraise with HelpHOPELive in part because HelpHOPELive provides both tax-deductibility and fiscal accountability to her contributors. Contributors can be sure that funds contributed will be used only to pay or reimburse medically-related expenses.
