Hi! Help Hope Live is a charitable organization that requires medical verification. Working with my medical team, they’ve qualified me for catastrophic illness fundraising through their program. In the picture you see me, happy and full of life. I’m happy in that picture because I’m close to something I dearly love -my violin. The sheer joy of just being able to touch it is what you see in my face. What you don’t see is that I couldn’t use my arms to actually play, and that that little effort to just be that close to it…. cost me screaming pain the next day and the inability to move. The long hair you see hugging my violin – I sold 19″ for wigs to be made so that I could pay for specialized testing that insurance wouldn’t cover, and I am so grateful I was able to get that testing completed. Here is a bit of my background, why that testing was so important, and why I am asking for your caring help now if at all possible.
I’m a musician trained in violin, piano, organ, and voice. My parents taught me we were here to help others, and I truly felt joy in doing so every way that I could. Grateful for the privilege to give, I never experienced what it was like to be the one in need until my health unexpectedly crashed just before I turned 19. In two decades, I went from being a competitive athlete and musician, to being a wheelchair user needing assistance to eat, to this moment where I am grateful my voice is working to voice-type to you.
I have begged God for His help, and finally, this testing yielded results that were actionably helpful!! Even with this moment’s ability to speak, there are not words to express how I feel to find…. that there is an opportunity for medical treatments that could significantly improve the quality of my life!! 🥹 The hope of a chance to regain some independence, play the songs from my soul through my instruments, to have something to give to this world and help others struggling…..to just live life!!! When you have lived with so little hope for so long, you understand why this organization’s title is a plea for anyone to help keep that alive. These treatments, including IVs, plus travel expenses to move in my condition, and live near the medical facilities, cost far more than insurance will cover. I’ve spent over half of my life trying my hardest despite decreasing hopes. Now, I am willing to try but instead of a daily uphill battle, this time with the actual hope of climbing out into the world again. I know it will be a long path, but the biggest hurdle right now is how to make that journey start.
It will be a long time until I get 19 inches of hair to grow and sell again! So I sincerely mean when I say every bit towards these medical needs truly helps and is deeply appreciated!! Thank you for reading this, and wherever this appeal finds you in your own life, I wish you hope in your own heart and life as well.
Sincerely,
~ Anne
