Anne Sealey

            Anne is a 59-year-old mother and grandmother. She was active in the lives of her children and grandchildren until her diagnosis of Acute Myeloid Leukemia in July of 2025. She has undergone several chemotherapy treatments and has a bone marrow every month to monitor her cells. She has been approved for a stem cell transplant and is now waiting for a transplant donor to become available.

            Anne loved spending time with her grandchildren and was actively attending all their events at school. She loves helping to take them to school and picking them up, as well as watching them on weekends to help her children. She loves playing all sorts of games with them as well as helping them educationally. Anne just loves helping her family near and far.

            Since her diagnosis Anne has had to make changes to her diet and lifestyle. She now must live an isolated life due to her compromised immune system. Because of chemotherapy Anne cannot be around the general population as well. So, she spends her time in the house awaiting her stem cell transplant.

            Anne is fundraising for the cost of the stem cell transplant because her insurance will only cover 65% of the procedure. She will also need to pay 35% of her co-insurance. Anne needs to relocate closer to the transplant facility for about 3-4 months after the transplant. Anne’s team estimates that this will cost between 100,000 and 200,000 dollars.

            This transplant will help Anne get back to a normal life within one year after the stem cell transplant. She looks forward to being around friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
