Anthony Contreras

Friends and family of Anthony Contreras have established a fund to help with his annual out of pocket medical expenses associated with amyotrophic lateral Sclerosis (ALS), also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

ALS affects the nervous system and specifically targets at-will muscles, such as in the arms and legs. It is a progressive disease with symptoms that will increase in severity gradually, and will eventually cause the loss of muscle strength, limiting the range of movement, and the freedom of living independently. As ALS progresses, it will affect the muscles for breathing and other basic reflexes such as eating.

ALS significantly impacts Anthony’s physical, psychological, and emotional well-being, as well as affects his circle of loved ones and caregivers that support him every step of the way. Not only is Anthony’s quality of life considerably impacted, but the extensive financial implications are staggering.

Anthony is a lover of life and open hearts, a father, grandfather, brother, son, husband and friend to all. Throughout his life, Anthony has carried the load to make it light for others, a flame for lost souls, and a comforting embrace for broken hearts.

Besides his family, He was very proud of his work as a General Contractor in his own business “Contreras Construction”, specialty was remodeling kitchen & Bathrooms. He always enjoyed the pleased/happy faces on his customers.

A donation to Help Hope Live in honor of Anthony will help lighten the financial burden of ALS, but also be a beacon of light and hope for Anthony to keep fighting the good fight and living his life on his own terms.
