HelpHOPELive South-Central Kidney Transplant Fund

Anthony Elliott of Pinewood, SC will be receiving a kidney transplant on August 1, 2007. Anthony, at age 13, was diagnosed with juvenile onset diabetes. For the past 32 years, he has struggled with this disease and its many side effects including partial vision loss, digestive disorders, heart and renal disease. In December of 2006, Anthony was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure. His condition has worsened over the past six months, and his physicians have determined that he needs a kidney transplant to survive.

Anthony has been evaluated and approved as a transplant candidate by the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. At the same time, his sister, Dora Jane, has been identified, tested and approved to be his living donor. The transplant is scheduled for August 1, 2007.

As many of you have heard of Anthony’s illness, you have asked us how you could help. Our first response has been and will continue to be to please pray for Anthony and our family. Our parents instilled in us at an early age that prayer is the lifeline for all of us, and we are trusting Jesus to sustain us through this difficult time. Please help us pray for the following:
• that God will protect Anthony and Dora Jane from any illness that would prevent the transplant.
• that God will strengthen and give wisdom to the surgical team.
• that God will protect Anthony from a rejection of the transplanted kidney.
• that God will allow Anthony’s and Dora Jane’s recoveries to be completely boring!!
