Hello, my name is Arthell Stevenson, better known as Lamont. Many of you know me as an active, energetic individual that is full of life. Unfortunately, in the last several years that has changed. In 2013, I was diagnosed with COPD/emphysema. COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) is an illness that restricts the airflow through the lungs. It is known to cause severe long-term disability and has a poor prognosis.

Thankfully, I have now been offered another chance at life, but I need your help. Doctors at Vanderbilt University Hospital have approved me for a lung transplant, but my family and I must cover costs that my insurance will not. This includes my lodging in Nashville, Tennessee, medications, doctor visits, and other necessities for the three months that I must remain there after my lung transplant. Fundraising for such expenses must take place before I can receive the surgery.
