Ashley Sprouse

Dear Friends of Ashley Ruppe Sprouse,Ashley is a young wife & mother who grew up and lives in Gaffney. She graduated from Gaffney High School in 2001. She then furthered her education at Spartanburg Community College, graduating with a degree in Respiratory Therapy. She is a Registered Respiratory Therapist with Atrium Health. Ashley’s desire has always been to help others in their time of sickness and that is evident with the care she has provided to many patients over the years. In 2006, she married Michael Sprouse, and they have 2 children, Sara Kay age 15 & Will age 10 who both attend local schools. Ashley is involved in the community and her kids’ activities. Ashley is a dedicated wife, mother, and friend who loves dearly. She is an active member of Cherokee Creek Baptist Church.Approximately 2 years ago, Ashley was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease that attacked her liver. Her disease continued to progress and now she has cirrhosis of the liver. She has been told by Drs at MUSC in Charleston & Duke University that she is in need of a lifesaving liver transplant. Duke University has accepted her as a candidate for a living donor liver transplant.Ashley & her family need our help. Not only is liver transplantation a major surgery with difficult recovery, but it is also very expensive, and insurance will not cover all the costs. Hospital co-pays and relocation expenses for both Ashley and her husband, Michael who will both be taking time off work can be astronomical and burdensome.As friends of the Sprouse Family we can offer our help and prayers during this difficult time. We can also help financially. A fundraising campaign in Ashley’s honor has been established with HELP HOPE LIVE, a non-profit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for over 40 years.
