If I only had a heart…

Over 7 years ago, I was told by 4 cardiologists that, due to an enlarged heart, I would be needing a heart transplant soon…I waited. This past year, I was told by medical professionals at the Mayo Clinic that my heart had grown…“the biggest I’ve ever seen”. It is finally time to prepare for a transplant…

I have always lived a positive and simple life. I have had the privilege of raising 2 wonderful boys and work hard for everything I have. I have the joy of being called “grandfather” by a beautiful granddaughter and have loved watching her grow. As time has passed, it has become difficult to keep my energy up to do the things I have enjoyed doing. Help me continue to be a father and a grandfather.

Out of pocket costs (after insurance) for heart surgery can reach up to $800,000 or more (*According to the United Network for Organ Sharing). Costs can include post-surgery care, medical equipment, caregiver costs, medications, travel, and lodging. I ask my family and friends to join me in fundraising for these expenses.
