Hello,

Let me first introduce myself. My name is Barbara Dumont. I’m 34 years old and live in Los Angeles. I love God and enjoy swing dancing. I’m a daughter, auntie, and friend. Unfortunately, I also need a kidney.

I have had kidney issues since my infancy. At age 11 I received a kidney transplant that lasted 10 years. For the last 10 years I have been on dialysis. A transplant will allow me to be as healthy as I can be with the added benefit of a longer life with all of you!

I am now eligible to receive a new kidney because I’m at the top of the list in Los Angeles. With my health deteriorating over the last 3 years, I feel an urgency to move forward. A transplant will greatly increase my quality of life.

Although I do receive some money, it is very little and not enough to cover expenses.

This is what I need in order to move forward:

– Stable housing for a caregiver and me, close to/near UCLA Medical (2 bedroom place for a minimum of 1 month)
– Compensation for Caregiver(s)
(At this time, no single person can care for me
throughout the necessary time. I have multiple people available to me.)
– Daily parking at the medical center
– Daily needs such as: food, gas, parking.

At this time I estimate my need to be between $8,000-$10,000.
