Beatriz Navarro

My name is Beatriz Navarro, I am 52 years old, and I have lived with the effects of polio since I was 4.

After several surgeries during my childhood, I learned to walk using orthopedic braces on both legs and crutches. Despite the physical challenges, I studied Business Administration, graduated in 1998, started working immediately, and spent more than 20 years supporting my family and serving my community.

I raised my son, who is now in university, and I always tried to live with dignity, independence, and gratitude.

Over the last two years, however, my body has taken a heavy toll. After a lifetime of walking with crutches, my rotator cuffs are damaged, my hips can no longer support my weight, and I am now dependent on a wheelchair for mobility. Unfortunately, the equipment I currently use is no longer adequate for my condition and it is affecting my health, my independence, and my daily life.

My family and friends are helping me raise funds through Help Hope Live so I can access a medically appropriate wheelchair and cover the uninsured expenses related to my disability.
