A helping hand is needed..a donation is wanted please…

My name is Bernadine Speight I have end stage renal disease, I was first diagnosed in 2011 with diabetes and high blood pressure. Since then my health has declined. I Pray every day the Lord will Bless me with a kidney real soon. I have my Family, Church family and friends all praying for me. I have a positive attitude and lifestyle which I’ve tried to maintain through this critical battle I’m facing daily. I’m on Dialysis three times a week, it takes a lot out of me, but I pray to stay strong.

I’m a resident of Durham North Carolina and I’m on the transplant list in Richmond, Virginia. I have insurance but some of my expenses are not covered. Some of the current and future expenses include, medication, travel, lodging, and most important, the anti-rejection medication I will receive after the transplant is something I will need to keep my kidney functioning properly for the rest of my life. These expenses are only partially covered or not covered at all. And I will need to stay in Virginia after the surgery for at least 3- 4 weeks and will need a home health care aid. There are many transplant expenses that are not covered by my insurance. I need your help.

I am asking my Family and Friends to join me in fundraising for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to help with critical expenses to ease the financial burden of a transplant and allow me to focus on a healthy recovery and long life ahead with my family and friends.
