Bernardo Lazo Montiel

Hi, my name is Bernardo Lazo Montiel, I was diagnosed with diabetes, high blood pressure, and renal disease in 2017. In July 2021, I had to be hospitalized for a few days, I was told that I almost had a stroke and it cost me my hearing in my right ear and caused my body to lose balance which led me to become unemployed. I was also told that my creatinine levels were high and that my kidneys are now failing. I was immediately put on dialysis and have been on dialysis for almost two years now. I have gone through 3 minor surgeries, the 1st one was to insert my catheter through my chest for hemodialysis, my 2nd surgery was to change my catheter from my chest to my abdomen to start on peritoneal dialysis, and the 3rd surgery was to change my catheter from my abdomen because it was not functioning properly. I am hoping to have a kidney transplant so I can be able to live my life like normal, be able to spend time with my family, eat what I want and be able to work again.

Hola, mi nombre es Bernardo Lazo Montiel, me diagnosticaron con diabetes, presión alta y enfermedad renal en 2017. En julio de 2021 me hospitalizaron unos días, me dijeron que casi tuve un derrame cerebral y me costó la audición en el oído derecho y provocó que mi cuerpo perdiera el equilibrio lo que me llevó a quedarme sin trabajo. También me dijeron que mis niveles de creatinina estaban muy altos y que mis riñones ahora están fallando. Inmediatamente me pusieron en diálisis y he estado en diálisis durante casi dos años. Ha pasado por tres cirugías menores la primera fue para insertar mi catéter a través de mi pecho para hemodiálisis mi segunda cirugía fue para cambiar mi catéter de mi pecho a mi abdomen para comenzar con diálisis peritoneal y la tercera cirugía fue para cambiar mi catéter de mi abdomen porque no estaba funcionando correctamente. Espero tener un trasplante de riñón para poder vivir mi vida normalmente, poder pasar tiempo con mi familia, comer lo que quiero y poder trabajar de nuevo.
