BERNELL NEEDS YOUR HELP!

Bernell’s battle with kidney disease has come to a critical point. My better half and our four children’s father is now in stage four kidney disease. His kidney specialist has hopes that he could get a transplant before dialysis is needed, so he will be home to see our younger two children graduate and our grandson grow!

We’re asking family and friends to join us in fundraising for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to help with critical expenses Bernell will face immediately after surgery, including the cost of lodging near the transplant center where he is required to stay for a minimum of 30 days following his discharge.

Bernell has lived a productive life despite his chronic health condition. He has never let health challenges get in the way of living life. From becoming a self-taught chef and a kitchen manager, also a loving father of four and a grandfather to our grandson! Bernell’s positive attitude helped him avoid the inevitable for a long time, but now he’s at stage four kidney disease and needs our help!

While Bernell has health insurance, many transplant expenses are surprisingly not covered, such as the monthly anti-rejection medications he needs to take for the life of his new kidney. Bernell has been told to anticipate upwards of $6,650 in total costs of after care, and continued medications for life.

Donations to Help Hope Live can help ease the financial burden of a transplant and allow Bernell to focus on a health recovery and a long life with his family!
