Bernice Williams

Dear Friends and Family,

We are writing to you today on behalf of a very special person to us, Bernice Williams. Bernice is 47 years old, a loving wife, supportive mother and good friend to many. She has worked tirelessly to make sure that our family has all the necessities of life. Bernice is now in the fight of her life.

Five years ago, Bernice was diagnosed with Congestive Heart Failure. She has endured many hospitalizations, surgeries and has a defibrillator in her chest to keep her heart pumping. Her doctors at Tampa General Hospital have told us that her only chance for survival is a life-saving heart transplant.

This brings us to the purpose of this letter. Not only is this transplant a major surgical procedure, but it is very expensive and insurance will not cover all the costs. Some of these expenses are co-pays, deductibles, weekly travel to Tampa and relocation expenses at the time of transplant. In addition, Bernice will be on a life-time of expensive anti-rejection medications. This is where your help is desperately needed.

A fundraising campaign in Bernice’s honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southeast Heart Transplant Fund, and are administered for transplant-related expenses only.
