Beth Carey knows what it’s like to fight for her mental health. For years, she’s bravely faced the daily challenges of C-PTSD, autism, anxiety, and the overwhelming feeling of not belonging.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, these struggles intensified, bringing back nightmares, flashbacks, and a battle with situational mutism.

But Beth, with incredible resilience, pulled herself back from the brink. Now, driven by her own journey, she’s become a passionate mental health advocate, using her lived experience to empower others.

A trained ADA service dog is the missing piece for Beth – a partner who will help her feel safe and grounded, allowing her to fully embrace her purpose and continue to be a beacon of hope in the community she so bravely serves.

Beth has been accepted into a specialized service dog program to receive a certified, ADA-approved combination medical alert and psychiatric service dog—and she needs our help.

Family and friends of Beth Carey are raising money for the next 18 months for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Illness/disabilities.

We have chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover verified medical and related expenses.

Beth’s highly trained service dog will help mitigate the impact of Beth’s disabilities and mental heath challenges by performing essential tasks such as interrupting panic attacks, carrying emergency medication, providing deep pressure therapy, and more.

Her medical provider has recommended this support, and she has been officially approved by the trusted training organization, Independence Through Teamwork (SIT).

Due to the complexity of the tasks required, the training process takes 12–18 months and comes with significant costs—including boarding, ongoing care, and extensive task training.

Your donation will support these necessary expenses for training the service dog for Beth’s needs, to help Beth feel more grounded, safe, and empowered as she continues to embrace her purpose and serve as a beacon of hope in her community alongside her new service dog.
