Bill Patterson

Bill’s life was thrown into upheaval when he was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in January, 2013. Prior to that date he was diagnosed with (MG) Myasthenia Gravis and possibly (OPMD) Oculopharyngeal Muscular Dystrophy. He has had long and short periods of major voice loss. There was a period of time in 2011 and 2012 for just over a full year while he was President of the Rotary Club of South Hall County that he had to use a special devise to amplify his voice when speaking at the club. He currently has problems walking and he is having tremors mostly in his left arm. His voice gets worse in the afternoon and it’s hard for him to speak. He also has trouble typing with his left hand on his computer as well.

After many years of helping others, Bill needs our help. Bill has recently learned of a promising treatment known as HSCT or stem-cell-therapy. Bill is a candidate for stem cell therapy, however his health insurance is limited and does not pay for these treatments. Stem cell therapy costs upwards of $20,000. Without this treatment, Bill is also facing mounting out-of-pocket expenses such as co-pays and deductibles, medication fees, health insurance premiums, medical bills, and living expenses.

To help offset such expenses, a fundraising campaign in Bill’s honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years.
