Family and friends of Billy Morris, Jr. are raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with his Catastrophic Spinal Cord Injury.

On February 5, 2017 our lives were forever changed. Tragically, I received a phone call from Bartlett Police, Billy had been injured in a accident on his recently purchased Polaris Razor and had been airlifted to Regional One Elvis Presley Trauma Center in very critical condition. Only time would tell us how badly he had been injured. Billy suffered a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and Spinal Cord Injury (SCI), every bone on the left side of his face had been crushed, and he had broke his neck, which resulted in his SCI, and wasn’t expected to live. But, with our wonderful friends and family, earnestly praying, he did survive. Now, over a year post injury, we are still in rehab and recovery. Our home is now wheelchair accessible and we have transportation as Billy is confined to a wheelchair, requiring a handicap accessible van.

Billy was approved for Social Security Disability and Medicade. He is not eligible for Medicare and we are having to pay for private insurance, which takes all but $100.00 of his disability check. Needless to say, that’s not much to live on. With his medical condition, I have not been able to return to work. We are blessed, beyond measure for wonderful family and friends who have helped in so many ways.

He is still in need of a specialized bed, which has been denied by our insurance and TNCare. The Pro-Bed will allow for him to sleep, but to be continually rotated to prevent further skin breakdown and increase circulation. This is our next huge expenditure we are facing and the reason
