Our 7 Year Old Boy Needs Help!
Blake is a seven year old happy Boy who simply wants to do what other kids his age are doing. However, because of some of the challenges that Blake was born with, he is not able to do so. Blake was born with Hydrocephalus which is also known as “Water on the Brain” Blake’s severity of Hydrocephalus left him with a great deal of disabilities. Blake is Non-verbal and unable to talk. Sadly, he’s trapped inside without the ability to express his true needs. In addition, Blake has developed a seizure condition which can greatly affect his daily activities. Simple daily activities, can be challenging and frustrating for Blake.

Recently, his Physical Therapist and Consulting Physician recommended a device that they thought would be perfect for Blake called the DCP 16 Tricycle. This is a special medical grade piece of Durable Medical equipment which assists with Blake’s ambulation, range of motion, improve/assist with strengthening of anti-gravity muscles to include accessory muscles, proper hip-to-foot positioning, assist with development of balance and self support, improve motor planning, and increase blood circulation. With the use of this device, Blake may have a wonderful chance of doing the simple things in life–Walking, preparing his muscles for growth and overall independence. But without your help and assistance, this may not happen as his New York State Medicaid will not pay for this type of medical equipment since it’s not on their Formulary of approved items and does not have a proper code for billing. Our Blake is in desperate need of this medical equipment, the DCP 16 Tricycle in which insurance will not cover as medical necessity.

Our Family has chosen to fundraise for this Medical equipment that is absolutely necessary for Blakes Future. This device will grow with Blake and become a part of his life up until the age of 19 Years old.
