Help Bohdan be independent

On December 30, 2007, my son Bohdan was born with cerebral palsy. A quadriplegic requiring the use of a feeding tube for nourishment, he has attained the age of 18. It is becoming physically difficult to lift him along with his specialized wheelchair. Along with providing for all of Bohdan’s special medical needs, I am trying to raise money to obtain a handicap vehicle. We immigrated to the United States from Ukraine in 2011 for a better life for Bohdan and in 2016 we became citizens of this wonderful country.

In 2024, we were able to get the vehicle, although even with the Medicaid conversion we still have a large loan to pay off. Bohdan continues to need serious surgeries to correct his spine and help with his breathing. He needs special food for his feeding tube and the food that is best for him is not covered by our insurance.

As a survivor of domestic abuse, I am a single mother trying to do the best for my son. While non-verbal, Bohdan expresses delight in the little things many of us take for granted like being outside in the sunshine at a local park.

Since the recent war in Ukraine, my mother, sister, brother-in-law and their two small children have joined us in the U.S. as refugees in late 2022. With your help our family can support Bohdan and give him the best life possible.
