Brandi Crane
Locust Grove, OK
My name is Brandi, and my family is facing a season of life that I never imagined we’d have to walk through.
I’m living with liver disease and liver cancer, and after everything I’ve been through, I’m now on the transplant list. I’ve been told to keep a bag packed because when that call comes, things can move very quickly. Then the real journey begins!
This last year, our family has been dealing with serious medical struggles of its own. Skyler has been going through a frightening journey after doctors found a lesion in his brain, with hospital stays, testing, and so much uncertainty that we were left many nights with more questions than answers.
Our son Dawson has also been diagnosed with a serious heart condition and has had to step away multiple times from football, basketball, and the things he loves. Watching his heart break at every game he couldn’t play hurt my Mom heart!
And somehow, all of this has happened within the same year. One year. Three of us facing major medical battles at the same time. It’s been a lot for our family to carry all at once.
There have been medical appointments, hospital trips, medications, travel, hotel stays, time away from work, and expenses we never expected. And with a transplant ahead, there will be even more expenses as we prepare for what comes next.
Asking for help with anything has always been incredibly hard for me. I’ve always wanted to be the person helping everyone else, not the person who has to ask for help. But I’ve learned through this journey that sometimes God puts people in our lives to help carry us when we don’t have the strength to carry everything ourselves.
Through all of this, God has been the reason I’ve made it this far. There have been days I didn’t know how I would get through, but He has continued to give me the strength to take the next step. I don’t know what the future holds, but I trust that God isn’t finished with us!!
At this time, we are asking for help with expenses now and those that are coming:
• Transplant-related medical expenses
• Travel to appointments
• Lodging near the transplant center — I may be away from home for about 3 months
• Medications
• Household expenses while I’m unable to work
• Other transplant-related costs
If you’re able to donate, share our story, or simply pray for our family, it means more than I could ever express
Truly, thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping and standing by my family during our time of need.
Living… one day and one prayer at a time.
