Candyce needs our help! As many of you know she was diagnosed with pulmonary hypertension back in 2009. Her disease and the symptoms have steadily increased over the years. She is now on a continuous infusion of medicine going into an IV in her chest and is on oxygen at home. She is being treated at UCSF and they have informed her that she will need a lung transplant. Candyce has also had lupus for many years and she will be only the 7th patient to ever receive a lung transplant at UCSF with that diagnosis.

Organ transplantation is lifesaving but expensive. There are many pre- and post-transplant related expenses that are not covered by insurance, including her requirement to stay in San Francisco for 6 weeks after being discharged from the hospital. Financing this procedure is a monumental task, one that Candyce cannot meet without your support.

To help ease the financial burden of transplant related costs, a fundraising campaign in her honor has been established with HelpHOPELive, a nonprofit organization that has been assisting the transplant community for 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible, are held by HelpHOPELive in the Southwest Lung Transplant Fund, and are administered by HelpHOPELive for transplant-related expenses only.
