Carlos Watts

Carlos Watts of Oklahoma is a loving and devoted son, brother, father, and husband. He and his wife, Tammy, are the proud parents of their ten children, along with Carlos’ three additional children. Carlos is in need of a kidney transplant and requires the help of his community to make it happen. Transplants are life-saving but very expensive.

At age 46, Carlos was diagnosed with Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FCGS), a debilitating disease that attacked his kidneys. He is no longer able to participate in working, spending active time with family and friends, and other simple daily activities of living. Carlos is now completely dependent on dialysis, three days/week, for four hours/day at an outpatient clinic. His only chance to return to good health is through a kidney transplant.

Tammy was trying to be a living donor for her husband, but was unable to do so for medical reasons. Therefore, Carlos must find a new donor or wait for a compatible kidney to become available. But funding this procedure is a monumental task as there will be many expenses not covered by insurance such as co-pays, anti-rejection medications, hospital stays, travel and relocation costs.

To help with the financial burden of Carlos’ uninsured expenses, a fundraising campaign in his honor has been established with Help Hope Live, a trusted nonprofit organization that has been providing community-based fundraising guidance to patients and their families for more than 30 years. All donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law, are held by Help Hope Live in the South-Central Kidney Transplant Fund, and are administered by Help Hope Live for transplant-related expenses only.
