Hi, my name is Carol.

Before I fell ill 4 years ago I was an independent, active lady that loved caring for others. I worked taking care of adults with Autism and it was the best job I ever had. I had to quit because I had to get on oxygen.

I loved spending time with my 3 young grandkids. As time goes by, I can’t spend as much time with them as I would like. I get very tired and winded. I loved going to my favorite artists, Gabby Barrett and Cade Foehners, concert but I was always in a wheelchair with my oxygen. I had 2 Australian Shepards that I loved so much but had to re-home them because I couldn’t take care of them as they deserved.

My only hope is to get a double lung transplant. I’ve been trying hard to qualify for the transplant for over 2 years, driving back and forth from Nebraska to Denver doing medical testing. Finally, all of my hard work and rehab has paid off and I am a good candidate.

Finances have been a struggle despite a minimal disability check. I need help with a caregiver, travel and medications that are not covered in my insurance. Also for food and hotels when I need to go to Denver for testing.
