Caylem Dockery

Family and friends of Caylem Dockery are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Catastrophic Illness. Caylem has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.Caylem is in need of help for funding a wheelchair accessible van, home modifications, and help paying for a blood test insurance will not cover.Caylem is six years old and has hypotonic cerebral palsy, microcephaly, global developmental delay, chorea, dysphasia, and is in danger of seizures. He is non verbal, cannot walk or feed himself or do normal everyday tasks. The blood test he needs is to find out if he also has what is called “ponto cerebellar hypoplasia type 2”. This is a rare genetic disorder that he shows signs of but it is not yet confirmed. This diagnoses is absolutely terrifying considering the prognosis that often comes with it.Caylem is the happiest child I have ever had in my life. His deep dimples when he smiles will light up anyone’s world. He is a fighter and is more resilient than I have ever been. Regardless of how many surgeries and tests he’s been through in such a short time on this earth, he has proven time and time again how strong he is.
