Chandra Needs Your Help

Chandra Davis, a loving wife and mother to two young boys, is in desperate need of a lifesaving kidney transplant. Chandra was diagnosed with a condition known as post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis, which overtime attacked her kidneys and caused kidney failure. Now with less than 10% of her kidney function remaining, Chandra’s options have run out and blood test results indicate that her kidney function is rapidly declining. Chandra has begun medical screening for transplant surgery, and hopes to be actively listed at Indiana University Health in the near future.

Once Chandra is actively listed, she is required to be monitored and undergo extensive medical testing. At the recommendation of her team of medical professionals, Chandra is now seeking a living kidney donor-transplant, as there is a shorter wait times after finding a healthy match (1-2 months) and living-donor kidneys generally last longer than a deceased donor organ. Chandra and her loving and supportive family are trying desperately to prevent Chandra from receiving dialysis treatments, as these treatments can cause additional health problems and lower the life of the transplanted kidney. Without a new kidney, Chandra’s time will quickly run out and her health will continue to decline. For these reasons, Chandra needs your help to receive a kidney transplant and she needs your help sooner than later!

Transplants are lifesaving but very expensive, and Chandra’s out-of-pocket medical costs continue to add up. Co-pays and deductibles, health insurance premiums, medical bills, living expenses, meal fees, lab costs and even travel back and forth to the transplant center are more than she can handle alone. Chandra will also be required to take costly, post-transplant anti-rejection medications that she will soon need for the rest of her life. Once she has a suitable match for a living-donor, she will be required to pay for her donor expenses as well. These and other costs are expected to be upwards of $30,000 and Chandra desperately needs your help to meet these costs.
