Help Charlotte Get A New Service Dog!

Charlotte is in need of a balance/mobility service dog so her current service dog, Miss Anna can retire and become a best friend instead of a working dog. Charlotte has a variety of health problems, but Degenerative Disc Disease and Fibromyalgia have left her with severe motor function and balance issues leaving her increasingly wheel chair dependent. To remain at home and independent, Charlotte desperately needs a trained mobility service dog large enough to assist her.

Charlotte’s current service dog, Miss Anna, is an eleven year old Cocker Spaniel who weighs 26 pounds. She is incredible and doing everything possible to help Charlotte. However, she was neither trained to be a mobility dog nor is she large enough. Anna is able to bring Charlotte’s walker but the wheelchair is too heavy for her. Charlotte is on the waiting list of a small program in Merced, CA and need to raise funds to acquire the dog and temporary lodging while completing training. Unfortunately because of the strain caused by a person’s height and weight, there are only a handful of service dog programs that breed and train dogs large enough to withstand the physical demands placed on them. With a new service dog, Charlotte can continue to stay at home and Miss Anna can retire to become a beloved companion while a new dog takes over.
