Cherrill Maddux

Family and friends of Cherrill Maddux are raising money for the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with a Transplant. Cherrill has chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live in part because donations are tax deductible for contributors and will only be used to cover medical and related expenses.Cherrill is a 65-year-old wife, mother and grandmother who has always been an active person. In 2014 she was diagnosed with COPD.  After being hospitalized with a respiratory infection in 2019 her COPD has progressed significantly. She has been approved for a lung transplant and is now waiting for that very important phone call.Cherrill likes doing many things sewing, gardening and baking and decorating cakes and cookies with her granddaughters.  And sometimes an occasional treasure hunt with one of the granddaughters. She loves time with family and friends.Having always been a very independent person, she likes doing things for herself, which at times gives her some problems to overcome. With the portable oxygen in tow, you must keep a close watch on time so that you have enough oxygen to get done and get home safely. Also, at times she will still need to stop to catch her breath, and she walks slowly to try to avoid stopping. This is sometimes frustrating to other shoppers, who at times are verbal with their frustration.Cherrill is fundraising to help cover some of the cost of medications necessary post-transplant. Cherrill’s team estimates the cost to be approximately $2500.00.Cherrill is hoping that the transplant will get her back to a normal life. One without oxygen hoses trailing behind her or portable oxygen to take everywhere and being able to spend more time enjoying family, friends and having fun with her grandchildren.Please donate to HELP HOPE LIVE in Cherrill’s honor today and ask friends and family to give too.
