Christina Marie Lynn Calderon

Family and friends of Christina Calderon are raising money with the nonprofit Help Hope Live to fund uninsured medical expenses associated with her Heart Transplant. We have chosen to fundraise with Help Hope Live because donations are tax deductible for contributors and can only be used to cover verified medical and related expenses.

Christina is an author of childrens coloring books intended to help kids believe in themselves and deal with big emotions and is a baker/cake decorator. She has a passion for turtles(check below for Sea turtle facts courtesy of Christina)

She dearly loves her husband of 29 years Julio and their three children, Rain, Roely and Sam!

In 2017, Christina became sick with a viral infection that evaded treatment and triggered heart failure. She was 41. She was forced to shut down her custom fondant cake bakery and focus on her health. Over the years heart failure patients slowly decline and Christina’s cardiac team has informed us that she now needs a heart transplant.

Donating will ensure that her transplant and post-transplant care goes smoothly and our Family can focus on catching up on 9 years of missed experiences with our mom like hiking, walking on the beach, and playing with her grand-babies.

SEA TURTLE FACTS as promised, Provided by Christina

– Did you know that there is a type of sea turtle that eats almost EXCLUSIVELY jellyfish? Its called a Leatherback and they have specialized spines in their throat for eating them, they are the reason we shloud keep plastic bags and balloons out of the ocean to protect them from mistakenly eating plastic.

-Every winter along the Texas gulf coast, Sea Turtle rescuers go out on boats and beaches to search for cold stunned turtles in order to make sure they survive the cold snaps. One rescue can save thousands of turtles a year.

-Sea turtle babies instinctively make their way towards the water. They will imprint on that specific beach and come back to lay their own eggs there years later.
