Christine is raising money to pay for uninsured medical expenses associated with her spinal cord injury. Christine lives in Chula Vista, CA, and is being treated at VIP NeuroRehabilitation Center.

In 2006, Christine was injured in a near-fatal car accident.  Unfortunately, Christine was sitting in the front seat when her friend lost control of the vehicle, and it rolled over, collapsing its roof. The crushed roof put pressure on her cervical vertebrae five and six, resulting in a spinal cord injury (SCI), as well as other medical issues.  The SCI affected her nervous system and caused paralysis.  After three months of hospitalization and two months of in-patient rehab, Christine was released home.

Christine knew her mission to walk again had only begun, and with God’s healing power, it will be completed. With the financial support of family and friends, Christine has focused on her recovery and received specialized treatment. Christine has regained enough strength to transition from a power wheelchair to a manual chair, gain voluntary leg movement, and connect with muscles below her injury level. Christine is now able to take steps with minimal assistance. With the help of her trainer, Christine stood up using a walker to take family pictures for a special event. Christine has made great improvements. However, her road in recovery is long and expensive. All specialized training is out-of-pocket and not covered by her health insurance.
