CJ Needs Our Help.

CJ Kittrell of Chico, TX was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 24. Type 1 is a debilitating disease that has progressively attacked his kidneys and pancreas. In early 2014, CJ went into a diabetic coma which further damaged his kidneys and almost ended his life. Now at 37-years-old, he is completely reliant on dialysis three times a week for his survival. His only chance to return to good health is a kidney/pancreas transplant and he needs the help of his community to make this happen.

Luckily, CJ has been placed on the active transplant waiting list at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas and Ft. Worth. It was no easy task to be accepted onto the list, but CJ has been very proactive in keeping himself in good health and following all doctor’s orders and recommendations. He continues to work over 60 hours per week in order to fund his own transplant; however, funding this life-saving procedure is a monumental task. Even with insurance, CJ will have many uninsured transplant-related expenses such as: co-pays and deductibles, travel and temporary relocation to be near the transplant center and the costly anti-rejection medications which he will need to take for the rest of his life. These expenses are more than CJ can handle.
